Ozzie Rosales Bio
Ozzie Rosales is the epitome of spiritual art. As a Los Angeles native, Ozzie first picked up the spray can as a graffiti artist to document the everyday life and death situation of his West side Venice neighborhood. With the help and support of his father who first taught him how to draw at the age of four, his Venice High School art teachers and his loving wife Suzanne, he turned his raw talent into painting on canvas.
He began selling his popular art work to friends and submitting pieces to art houses including Sparc in Venice and The Art Coalition in North Hollywood which garnered him some respect among his peers. But his real breakthrough as an artist came when he was invited to a Native American sweat lodge, it led to a dynamic spiritual experience that affected his art forever, his paintings now had Indian themes and the ultimate respect for Mother Nature and spirituality.
Ozzie’s canvas work and love for photography, which he turned into a successful web site Ozzie15k.org has led to employment designing T-shirts, album covers and insets for L.A.’s hottest underground Hip-Hop groups including Humanbeings. Ozzie’s spiritual artwork, which have been seen on a mass scale in the film Justified (Half Past Dead Part II), and his deep love for humanity, he has donated art pieces to several organizations including the MET Theatre in Hollywood and the non-profit organization Rock-n-Roll Bingo, has transcended any and all barriers
His work has been seen in Art Galleries through out Los Angeles and the South Bay including the Los Angeles City Attorneys Office, was recognized by the City of Los Angeles for his Art contributions to his community, various Downtown Art walks at The Hive, Maya Mundo, the Venice Art Crawl and recently at tribu to name a few.
